Early this summer, in a beautifully sunny Crete, we were intrigued by the Phaistos disc, one of the world’s oldest codes – and not yet solved.
But when we returned to the UK, it seemed that up on Mount Olympus, the gods were entranced by this song.
It’s a Vigenère cipher. The key is the god of the sky, rain, thunder and lightning.
